Abroad

I am beyond grateful to be given the opportunity to travel abroad over our spring break and learn about London’s culture and influence on fashion. It is difficult for me to put it into words of how exposed I felt when being taught new concepts but the feeling was exhilarating. Being surrounded by the same environment, people, and routine all the time, I tend to forget that there is something so much grander outside of these walls. The excursion left me feeling so excited to design and create with the new gained knowledge. I left the U.S. wanted to come back feeling inspired and renewed, which was most definitely achieved. My desire for sustainable and ethical practices has deepened due to the influence of touring Raeburn and learning their morals and values. As a detail-oriented individual, I was in awe of all the minute details I not only saw in garments but London architecture, experiences, and cuisine. I am also thankful to be able to develop deeper relationships with my peers and create new ones. Being able to connect over the same ideals and passions was a wonderful and unexpected aspect of the trip that I will be forever grateful for.
